Independent model testing

We deliver independent model testing for hydropower producers and plant owners, a key service for new installations and for the refurbishment of existing power plants.

We operate six turbine test rigs, designed to cover a wide range of turbine types and applications:

  • Francis / Kaplan / Pump-turbine (2 rigs)
  • Kaplan (1 rig)
  • Pelton horizontal (1 rig)
  • Pelton vertical (1 rig)
  • Bulb / Tidal (1 rig)

All tests are performed in accordance with IEC 60193, ensuring internationally recognized accuracy and reliability. Each test rig is fully independent, providing maximum flexibility and efficiency in testing operations.

We can perform measurements under all operating conditions with model turbines featuring:

  • Francis, Kaplan, and tubular runners up to approx. 350 mm outlet diameter
  • Pelton turbines with bucket widths up to approx. 100 mm

Our state-of-the-art instrumentation ensures high measurement accuracy (up to 0.2%) and repeatability (within 0.1%).

Data acquisition and processing are fully automated on every test rig, guaranteeing consistent, fast, and high-quality results.

Complete instrumentation of each test rig can be calibrated at any time in order to check the accuracy of the delivered data of each instrument.
